I'll be movg to tri-c wh the month and wanted to know how gay life is there? Not really to bars, but lookg for other gay folks area who are terted meetg for dner, movi, kayakg, etc. It's much easier here to meet people who are gay through school or somethg like that.

There are a lot of gay people the tri-ci, believe or not. But, overall the area is very unacceptg towards gay people. My advice would be to jo a gay group or support club the area and meet people that way, too.

It is a great place to make iends--gay, straight, whatever. Someone mentned that there was a signifint gay/lbian populatn the they married/closeted or actually "livg" a gay life? What exactly is a gay life?

I've heard for years that Johnson Cy is "ltle San Francis" but to be hont I don't know that many gay people here.

I've observed that gay guys tend to be eher affluent, ted and (relatively) wealthy, or unted, poor and socially immobile. Unfortunately greener surroundgs like Nashville, Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, Charlton, Savannah, Miami and Birmgham tend to draw away the Tri-Ci' affluent and ted gay populatn.

Thgs are changg somewhat and there's que a few young gay men here who are "out.

But back to raw mographics, I work wh at least ten gay people out of a workforce of 120 or so. Re gay-affirmg church, there possibly may be another one g to the JC area eventually.
