As Vice Chair, I will ntue to look for areas where we n work together to protect gay and trans youth and ensure they have support so they don’t feel isolated. In 2020, the Governor appoted Jtice Mart Jenks to serve as the first openly gay man on the California Supreme Court, and this year appoted Sacramento County Superr Court Judge Andi Mudryk, the first openly transgenr person to serve on the state’s judicial bench.
Shortly after takg office, the Governor lnched a new iative to pardon people who were prosecuted California for beg gay.
Robert Gentry was the first openly gay elected official Southern California and the first openly gay Mayor California. Gentry also thored an ordance which registered both gay and straight domtic partnerships the cy, th offerg ernmental affirmatn of the relatnship and extendg any benefs to domtic partner registrants. Gentry held the followg posns as an openly gay admistrator durg his tenure at UCI: Actg Dean of Stunts, Associate Dean of Stunts, Director of Development for Stunt Affairs, Director of Hog, Director of Stunt Special Servic.
