In 2020, the Governor appoted Jtice Mart Jenks to serve as the first openly gay man on the California Supreme Court, and this year appoted Sacramento County Superr Court Judge Andi Mudryk, the first openly transgenr person to serve on the state’s judicial bench. Shortly after takg office, the Governor lnched a new iative to pardon people who were prosecuted California for beg gay.
