This study, nducted 2012, tted the rrelatn between “tonomy-thwartg parents” and ternalized self-loathg homophobia, and found that the two are pretty likely to tersect. As someone who went through a homophobic stage for the few years precedg my eventual g out, I n fely unrstand what the study is tryg to nvey. I was gay-shamed by one particular fay member for a long time before I even realized I was to girls (read: pre-puberty).
