Comix by Carl Vghn Frick (sometim jt lled “Vghn” or “Vghn Frick”), which was a satire about the gay muny of San Francis. Starblaze Graphics published the graphic novel Fortune’s Friends: Hell Week by Kay & Mike Reynolds, the lead character of which was gay.
But, perhaps most importantly, 1986 was the year that Meatmen was lnched by Leyland Publitns — was an anthology book of primarily erotic gay ics. It would n ntuoly until 2004, and durg s n is said that they featured “every gay male rtoonist of note who has worked sce the 1970s. And so Homosexualy: Legimate, Alternate Deathstyle me to be published — a “non-fictn” book claimg to be “the facts” but actualy a whole bunch of propaganda about how evil homosexuals were.
It was still seekg Co approval, and so the only openly homosexual character was the mor character of Silhouette. There were implitns (later nfirmed by the creators) that the two mor characters Hood Jtice and Capta Metropolis were gay and a relatnship together. The character Rorschach, equently assumed to be asexual, also referred to the character Ozymandias as “possibly homosexual.

Robert Triptow put together Gay Comics, a history of well, everythg you’ve read about here so far — the history of gays ics. Shortly afterwards, Jericho Wilson and Mark Phillips found the first gay amatr prs associatn (or APA) which they lled Northstar after, you know, Northstar. A matter of months later, Andy Mangels and Roger Klore found the send gay APA which they lled The APA That Dare Not Speak Its Name (after the famo Osr Wil speech).
