It was more alive — wasn’t all cut up, patched up, cleaned up, and sold to the mass media the way rock and roll had been.” The Play-Hoe also beme a rint troupe of renowned off-off Broadway theatre La MaMa. They were wrten by Ronald Tavel, a playwright and screenwrer who had prevly worked wh Andy Warhol on his 1964 film <em>Harlot</em>. That particular film featured three Warhol stars mischievoly eatg bananas while talkg a pre-wrten stream of nscns that, as the <em>New York Tim</em> <a href=">wrote</a> 2009, circled om “marriage before skippg to Edh Swell, prophylactics, Carmen Miranda and circlg back to those bananas.” That same style of wrg would populate Tavel’s <em>Shower</em> and <em>Castro</em> one year later, plays suffed by “a willful herence enhanced by non sequurs and an emphasis on lewd jok and bawdy behavr,” as thor David Kfman wrote his 2002 book <em>Ridiculo! It was more alive — wasn’t all cut up, patched up, cleaned up, and sold to the mass media the way rock and roll had been.” The Play-Hoe also beme a rint troupe of renowned off-off Broadway theatre La MaMa.
