Reverend Gay was a pastor for 61 years, servg 17 church Arkansas, and one Texas. Over the years, Reverend Gay has also worked as an elementary school teacher, a school b driver, a rock mason, a rpenter, a farmhand, and an evangelist. But Reverend Gay’s te llg was sharg the word of God, which he did for 63 years.
Reverend Gay will be remembered as man who loved God and loved others.

The Berkeley Free Clic’s longt servg volunteer, and -founr of one of the natn’s first and longt-nng gay men’s health clics, Dr. While workg as a BFC medic late 1975, Fred saw a client who had an STI that he had ntracted at a gay men’s bathhoe. The client had gone to Kaiser for help, only to be physilly asslted by a homophobic doctor.
As a bisexual who had sought non-judgmental sexual healthre himself, Fred knew that this client’s experience wh homophobia health re was more the le than the exceptn.

On a Sunday 1976, Fred and the crew of gay and bisexual muny members they had traed, opened the Gay Men’s Health Collective (GMHC) for servic.
