Unr EU law, lbian, bisexual and gay people are currently protected om discrimatn on the ground of sexual orientatn only the field of employment. Whereas while the EU has seen progrs terms of marriage and civil unns, adoptn rights for LGBTIQ persons and protectn law om discrimatn, hate speech and hate crime, there have also been steps backwards, such as hostile rhetoric om elected policians, surg homophobic and transphobic vlence and the proclamatn of the so-lled ‘LGBTI-ee zon’;.
