(Washgton, DC) – Mayor Muriel Bowser, DC Department of Parks and Recreatn (DPR) and DC Department of General Servic (DGS) announced that a brand new multi-ln dollar facily honor of Marv Gaye will open wh a block party style ftival wh members of Marv’s fay, live mic, food tcks, giveaways and more for DPR’s first Marv Gaye Day on Saturday, May 5, 2018, 2 p. At Marv Gaye Recreatn Center.
Highlights of the event clu the ribbon cuttg for Mayor Bowser and members of Marv Gaye’s fay as the center opens s doors for the first time. “We want to give people a piece of Marv wh the Marv Gaye rec center and ftival; where he grew up and the park he wrote early songs, ” explaed DPR Director Keh A. The new $14 ln Marv Gaye Recreatn Center was signed by IStud Archects and nstcted by MCN Build through DGS. The mornized Marv Gaye Recreatn Center and Trail Project clus a new two-story 7, 200 square foot recreatn center, wh exterr ameni and improvements along the existg trail.
