Led by UCSB’s Director of Choral Mic Nile Lamarte, whose nductg experience stretch natnally and ternatnally, the Santa Barbara Gay Men’s Chos (SBGMC) is a tenor-based group, meang is posed of people wh lower, eper voic.
Though the official stance of the Methodist church is that homosexualy is patible wh Christian teachgs, First Uned has visibly aligned themselv wh the LGBTQIA+ by patg their doors a rabow pattern, and the SBGMC has been embraced by First Uned, who “show the way that Christiany should be practiced, ” Bob told me. Artistic Director Nile Lamarte, who found the Gay Men’s Chos fall 2021, chose the theme and repertoire of the ncert to explore the ncept of time the past, prent and future, and how dividual actns fluence the world.
