Extend to two storeys 1911, the buildg hoed Gaydon’s chemist and ntal surgery (tablished on the se c1894), and several other important servic to the town. Thomas Gaydon arrived Chilrs 1894 and tablished 'The Isis Pharmacy' on behalf of Thomason Bros Co (Brisbane chemists). Born Drayton 1869, Gaydon pleted his apprentichip wh JL Hodgson Toowoomba, and was award the College of Pharmacy silver medal upon passg his Pharmacy Board examatn 1890.

Gaydon lived on se and the bs offered ntistry, addn to servicg the pharmacy needs of the muny ‘at any hour of the day or night’. The exact date Gaydon assumed ownership of the bs is unknown; however, September 1899, rub 18 of sub 3 of portn 870, was transferred to Thomas Gaydon and William Hood (tobacnist and statner) as jot tenants. Those stor stroyed were: S Oakley, bootmaker; FD Cooper, missn agent; R Graham, uerer; ME Gosley, tailor; Foley, hairdrser; M Redmond, Palace Hotel; WB Jon, ctneer; W Couzens, uerer; H Newman, general storekeeper; WJ Overell and Son, general merchants; P Christensen, bet maker; W Hood, statner; T Gaydon, chemist; W Lloyd, hairdrser; Mrs Dunne, uerer; Feral Jewellery Company; Dunn Bros, saddlers; H Wegner, bootmaker.

The Bundaberg archect FH Faircloth was engaged to resign new premis and lled tenrs for the erectn of eight brick shops, cludg Gaydon’s, June 1902.

Gaydon's Buildgs wh s broken semi-circular pediment matched the adjog Hood's shop to the wt.

A photograph datg om around 1913 shows that other tenants, cludg a bootmaker and the New Zealand Insurance Company, ed the eastern si of Gaydon's Buildgs. The upper floor was l by reloted lanterns the double gable roofs and a pair of large arched pound wdows, and so had excellent light for s e as a ntal surgery by Thomas Gaydon, who addn to his work as a pharmacist, also practised as a ntist, photographer and anathetist to the lol hospal.

In 1927 Gaydon add a skilln-roofed darkroom to the rear of the buildg, for the procsg of photographs as an agent for Kodak. Followg the ath of Thomas Gaydon 1935, the property was transferred to his two sons, T.

Geofey Gaydon (a ntist) and S. Noel Gaydon (a chemist) who both practised om the premis.

In 1938 Mervyn G Hooper joed the staff as a chemist and went to partnership wh Noel Gaydon 1956. When Noel Gaydon died 1966, Hooper ntued the bs and the property was transferred to his wife 1973. In 1989 Gaydon’s Pharmacy opened as a pharmactil mm wh an art gallery on the upper floor.

Dentistry ntued to be practiced at the premis followg the ath of Geofey Gaydon 1969: by William Steele, until 1991; Michael Kelly Wiseman, until 1994; and by Dr Brett Phillips, the current buildg owner. Gaydon’s Buildgs is a two story masonry buildg a row of shops on ontg the south si of Churchill Street, Chilrs ma street. The date 1894 is shown raised letters on the pediment wh the name GAYDON’S BLDGS below.
