Halsted St. In s place, Howard Brown would build a new health clic that would double the pacy of s nearby center at 3245 N. Halsted St. </p><p>After 45 years bs, the owners of Ltle Jim’s Tavern are retirg and sellg the buildg at Halsted Street and Cornelia Avenue, ownership said. In early 2019, the buildg that ho Ltle Jim’s and other lol bs went up for sale wh an askg price of $7.5 ln, <a href=">Chigo Magaze reported</a>. </p><p>“In planng the disposn of the property, we hoped s new e would prerve the character of North Halsted Street,” Ltle Jim’s owner, who is not named, said a statement. “We are thrilled that Howard Brown Health is planng to acquire the se to ntue our legacy of muny support and service.”</p><p> It’s not clear when the bar would close for good, however.</p><p>Howard Brown’s plans for the Ltle Jim’s se ll for a new buildg that would provi primary re appotments, sexual and reproductive healthre and behavral health servic, the LGBTQ-foced health group said a statement. The proposed buildg would clu street-level retail space, though plans for the space have not been solidified, a source faiar wh the plan said. </p><p>The velopment would require a rezong and Cy Council approval, said Trsa Feher, chief of staff to Ald. Jam Cappleman (46th). Cappleman’s office is workg to receive more rmatn about the plans and schle muny meetgs on the rezong requt. </p><p>“Out of all the velopers that me to , we’re pretty exced that Howard Brown is terted the space,” Feher said. “Howard Brown is such a good neighbor. Halsted to the new facily.</p><p>Opened 1975 by Jim Gat, Ltle Jim’s Tavern was the first gay bar Boystown and the <a href=">send-olst gay bar</a> Chigo. As the neighborhood blossomed to a gay-iendly nightlife hotspot, Ltle Jim’s beme the longt-nng bar Boystown. </p><p>In 2017, the bar expand to the neighborg storeont wh a new spot lled Big Jim’s. </p><p>Ltle Jim’s is now an inic and highly visible neighborhood gatherg place. But the cy was not always as acceptg of such tablishments. In s early days, Ltle Jim’s had darkened wdows to protect the safety of s ctomers, bar management prevly <a href=">told Chigo Magaze</a> a feature on the tavern.</p><p>In 2014, Gat sold Ltle Jim’s to the buildg’s landlord, a Philalphia-based vtor. Long wa-tim and service paci have plagued some Howard Brown facili, the anizatn’s learship said a statement. </p><p>The new health center at the Ltle Jim’s se would double the pacy of the existg Halsted Street center and help alleviate long wa-tim at Howard Brown’s flagship lotn at 4025 N. Sheridan Rd., the anizatn said. The youth center relotn would help the agency serve about 2,000 addnal kids a year. </p><p>Howard Brown currently has 15 lotns throughout the Chigo area. </p><p>“As the need for LGBTQ affirmg healthre
