THE LAMBDA: ALL THGS GAY & FRATERNAL
The lambda was selected as a symbol by the Gay Activists Alliance of New York 1970, followg the Stonewall Rts, and was clared the ternatnal symbol for gay and lbian rights by the Internatnal Gay Rights Congrs Edburgh, Stland, 1974.
The Sttish Mori Group hosted the first ever Internatnal Gay Rights Conference Edburgh om 18 to 22 December 1974. The nference tried to provi an ternatnal sharg of experience, so that legat uld fd out the social, polil and legal suatn for men and women om other untrim, and clud ssns on the rights of young homosexuals and of gay women. Nearly 400 people attend the nference, which led 1978 to the tablishment of the Internatnal Gay Associatn, later to bee the Internatnal Lbian and Gay Associatn (ILGA).
