I also like where this story didn’t go: The other lumberjacks uld have “found them out” and hurt them and this would have been a predictable “hurt the gays” story—but the men’s reactns are plex: they both sire the eedom of the gay men to form a relatnship, and also have an imprsn that there is a fluidy to sexualy and the man you are mp is not the man you are back the “real world.
The gay men are not some gay paradise–they are an allowed limbo that is cumbent upon tac ignorance and acceptance–a short-lived wdow of opportuny.
