FALLY, GAYS HAVE THEIR OWN TRASHY, MARRIAGE-DEFILG REALY SHOW
Ten years ago, for gays most parts of the Uned Stat, marriage was more an emotnal and spirual proposn than a legal agreement. But over the urse of a sgle , the natnal landspe for gay marriage has radilly changed.
It is well past time, then, for gays to publicly file the stutn, as the straights have before them, wh a trashy realy show. A few members are practiced therapy-speak, leadg them to soberly analyze fellow participants’ behavr terms of trmas and triggers—a taste of te gay life wh the make-believe settg of the show. This predictable oute ntraliz what I image would be, om a productn and marketg perspective, the primary sellg pot of a gay romance realy show: the possibily that a participant uld end up wh any of the others.

But gay marriage is still so young—I uldn’t shake the feelg that the participants were hung up on the same one-size-fs-all relatnship stcture that has disappoted straight people for generatns, when they uld be tryg somethg new. Sure, the upl are gay. Bee I knew, mid-way through a week of chattg about the “gay trash” we’d all bee obssed wh, that I had to wre about this show.
And, while I love the stori too, that’s not exactly accurate to the gay experience. That’s bee — spoiler alert — gay people are jt as erratic and turbulent as straight people.
“There’s no rrelatn to anythg gay or to anythg queer — like, ma no sense.
