For the exhibn Gay Arms, Grant Shaffer prents a new body of photographic seri is documentary style, wh s subjects pulled om the artist’s life. Gay men preferred a mcular build, while a curvaceo pann was more appealg to straight men. When lookg at a woman’s face, gay women and straight men agree: Ey are the first feature they notice.
Almost 70 percent of gay women and over 80 percent of straight men admire pupils, iris, rneas, and lens before focg on another body part. Straight men noticed a woman’s mouth next, whereas gay women were more likely to pay attentn to their jawle. Gay men and straight women noticed the same body parts as well.
Ey were also the first orr of bs for the rponnts (over 62 percent for gay men and nearly 82 percent for straight women).
