Alai’s longt nng gay venue, loted at 120 Gouger Street and known, until recently, as the Mars Bar, first opened December 1976. While Tarantella’s had a dance floor, gay men were prohibed om dancg together there. Alai’s Homosexual Alliance regard this as a vlatn of the Sex Discrimatn Act and lodged a plat wh the Equal Opportuni Commissn.
