Dorian is proud of who he is, both as a gay man and as a Tevter mage. All forms of popular culture have taken awhile to clu more LGBTQ characters, but gam pecially have ed gay and transgenr characters as punchl for a long while now, and only now are we startg to see that shift earnt.

As a rult, we still have almost no lead characters gam that are gay outsi of the die scene.

I’ve thought back to the gam I’ve played the last few years, and there have been a number of gay characters that have stood out to me one way or another. This won’t be a perfect list, and the gay game characters on may have their own problems wh trop or stereotyp, but I like them all for different reasons.

The fact that Kung J is gay is referenced only a few l of dialogue, and fightg gam, more than most, tend to e trop when cludg trans, gay or jt effemate fighters. Borrlands 2 has a few gay/bi characters, cludg Sir Hammerlock (who is gay) and Mad Moxxxi (who is bi) but I like the way the game snuck a few l to show that Ty Ta is actually gay herself.

GAY MEN VIO GAM

The Last of Us had a small st, but clud actually two gay characters, one beg Bill, whom you meet the ma game. But aga, early on we ran to this problem where many characters were only gay/bi if you wanted them to be. That changed by Mass Effect 3 when the game started troducg characters that were permanently straight or permanently gay, no matter the genr/preferenc of your Shepard.

WHY WE NEED MORE GAY CHARACTERS IN VIO GAM

As a male Shepard, you n romance him, and that plotle lead to the famo “Mass Effect Gay Sex Scene” which was more or ls shirtls cuddlg.

I will apologize for not playg more Dragon Age, as I know there are a number of gay characters I uld clu here. Jedi aren’t supposed to love, but they n still have preferenc, and Juhani was gay an era where few vio game (or Star Wars) characters were.

There are too many gam to unt at this pot that allow your character to be gay, but as RPGs evolved, one aspect of signg your character meant that you uld also pursue the orientatn of your choice. In many gam that means you n romance both male and female characters, but the pot is that gam like Fable, Fallout, Mass Effect, Sats Row, Dragon Age and so on, you n choose to be gay the entire time, if you want. So while inic game hero om Mar to Metroid to Kratos to Lara Croft will always be straight, your hero a number of AAA gam n technilly be gay, if that’s your sire.

VIO GAME CHARACTERS WHO ARE OPENLY GAY

I’m sure some also have var problems as to why some of the characters may not be the “bt” gay characters for one reason or another.

Creator Neil Dckman has nfirmed the character is gay, even though when she was created as a 14-year-old a post-apolyptic world, that wasn't necsarily planned.
