Much of the thor's source material om An Comunn Gaidhealach and s magaze An Gaidheal, a pennce some rears might take issue wh, but, as argued here, is one of the few available sourc and one which uld claim to reflect the Gaelic muny. The troubl faced by this muny, not least the seemgly termal cle of the language self between the 1930s and 1950s, is crilly discsed here. As the thor pots out, if there was cultural and lguistic failure, was part of the broar failure of ernment and s agenci. Dpe this, the book ends on a posive note, highlightg one area of nsens, that of the uniquens of the highlands. How different people and muni rpond to the g of `morny' to such a place was hugely varied om acceptance to trospective sentialism.
