Followg a day memoratn of the Stonewall Rts of 1969, LGBTQ lols gathered on Oxford Street at 10pm to march for equal regn, fight scrimatn agast LGBTQ people employment and hog, revoke anti-gay laws, and end police harassment. The first Mardi Gras was held on 24 June 1978 at 10 pm as a night-time celebratn followg a morng prott march and memoratn of the Stonewall Rts More than 500 people moved down Oxford St, llg for an end to discrimatn agast homosexuals employment and hog, an end to police harassment and the repeal of all anti-homosexual laws.
