Have a Gay Day Food Pantry please add a ment below wh rmatn. He was, and is, openly gay. As I got to know him I disvered that his father had died when he was young and, sce he had announced he was gay his olr brother was, whilst not exactly hostile, perhaps a ltle distant om him.
Durg the urse of his drivg lsons he told me that he was beg bullied at work as, not only was he openly gay but, due to a childhood illns, he had been left wh a speakg voice that was slightly ‘slow’ and often, que wrongly, left people believg he was ‘thick’ or stupid. I sat there huggg an 18 year old gay man who sobbed and sobbed to my arms for easily 5 mut wonrg how the hell I uld get the drivg lson started.

As a rult of the above my stunt has remend me to many of his iends and, lately, I seem to have been somewhat ‘adopted’ by the gay muny that area – I’ve even found myself as Godfather to a lbian upl ltle girl at her christeng after teachg one of them to drive and fdg myself a ‘iend of the fay’.
Two of my pals om schooldays were gay and the rt of knew but, bee they were our pals we looked after them on nights out and ensured they didn’t get beaten up – as was often the se for gays the 70’s – so I’ve never had an issue wh people beg gay. Some of the nict and most genue people I have ever met have been gay. I wonr why, the 21st Century, there is still, sometim, such antipathy or even downright hatred of a fellow human beg bee they happen to be gay?
