Formed 1982 as Frontnners Chigo to promote nng related activi, the gay and lbian club now has dozens of unterparts this untry and abroad. Frontnners/Frontwalkers Chigo is the largt walkg and nng club Chigo and has raised thoands of dollars for lbian and gay groups as well as AIDS, lbian health, and general muny chari.
The group was officially tablished July 1982 by Peg Grey, Rob Williams, and Jim Whe, wh the tent of servg the gay and lbian muny by promotg activi related to nng. The club took s name om The Front Runner, a bt-sellg novel by Patricia Nell Warren which nng is a symbol of gay and lbian pri.
Social, athletic, and volunteer events are anized monthly, providg a nonthreateng and supportive entry to the gay and lbian muny for persons who are g out, and a healthful way for gay men and lbians to meet, exercise, and socialize. In 1991, Frontnners/Frontwalkers Chigo began hostg Proud To Run, the gay and lbian Pri Day rac found by the Metropolan Sports Associatn.
