On December 21, 2021, the Dce of Gaylord, Mich., announced that Bishop Walsh had been appoted by Pope Francis to serve as sixth bishop of the Dce of Gaylord. As bishop of Gaylord, he succeeds the Most Reverend Steven J. Hurley has served as Apostolic Admistrator of the Dce of Gaylord.
Bishop Walsh’s epispal ordatn and stallatn as the sixth bishop of Gaylord took place on March 4, 2022 at Sat Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral Gaylord.
