Perhaps I word my post clumsily - the player ncerned, as I unrstand , is known to be gay throughout the game, well his own drsg room at least so to that extent is openly so - but the prs eher don't know, don't re, or, hopefully, jt don't thk s important enough to mentn - though I doubt the latter tbh.
BTW I prume the OP was referrg to openly gay male cricketers rather than femal. Partly I reckon - and here I am guilty of a whoppg great assumptn - that cricket is a sport that is ls likely to attract gay men than many sports, and more likely to attract gay women.
Perhaps the more important factor is that there seems to be much ls of a taboo about gay women sport than gay men, so more women than men feel happy to be "out". I've heard mors about him beg gay but never seen them e om a legimate source. I've always thought there's ls of a taboo about gay men than women most walks of life, but sport don't seem that way.
