The space that ho Trax has been queer sce the early 1970s when was a gay bar lled the Qutn Mark (the origal Qutn Mark dat back to the 1950s). Other long-gone LGBTQ stutns the neighborhood were the lbian bar Whoo Car at 782 Haight, open the 1950s; Romeo’s at 1605 Haight, a divey bar popular wh lbians; the Goln Cask rtrant and bar at 1725 Haight, opened the early 1960s and owned by succsful lbian bswoman Charlotte Coleman; the Park Bowl at 1855 Haight, a bowlg alley popular wh gay and lbian leagu the 1960s; and the famo I-Beam gay dis club, which opened at 1748 Haight the late 1970s and stayed operatn through the 1990s.
Club Deluxe was origally opened as a gay bar lled DeLuxe Bar 1978 before was renamed as Club Deluxe 1989.
Wh the exceptn of the buildgs that hoed the I-Beam and the briefly gay Haight Theater at 1702 Haight, all the LGBTQ-associated buildgs Haight-Ashbury are extant.
