we are a space that is centered around queer people: all lbian, gay, bisexual+, trans and non-bary, queer, qutng, tersex, asexual, and aromantic people, and anyone who’s not cisgenr-and-heterosexual. Thanks to plac such as Delmoni’s, Katie’s Bar, AXM and nights such as Hot Ms and Shoot Your Shot, Glasgow pre-lockdown had a thrivg gay pub and club scene.
From a time when Glasgow uld be nsired a hostile place for the gay muny - and not jt bee the participatn homosexual acts was emed a crimal offence.
This meant that bars the 1960s were fairly discreet, until a gay scene appeared almost overnight the cy the early 1970s. Before then Glasgow’s gay scene was effectively centred around hoe parti - the most famo of which took place regularly at Novar Drive the Hyndland area. In the early 1970s, The De of Wellgton Argyle Street was one of the first pubs that was taken over by Glasgow’s LGBT+ muny, wh the Waterloo Bar next door also havg a reputatn of beg both gay (and prostute) iendly.

The Court Bar on Hutchon Street (which shut 2015) would "turn gay" at 8pm om the mid 1980s onwards, wherpon is said that not only the staff changed, but an alternative and higher price list was fetched om unr the unter and affixed to the wall. And the 1970s and early 80s also saw the appearance of gay iendly diss the cy, such as the Great Wtern Hotel along Gt Wtern Road and Fire Island at Crs on Partick Bridge St.
