It wasn't tly gay eher more m/f and lbian.
BT "DARK" GAY CHARACTERS
The protagonist of the story is hired by an openly gay Catholic prit, Father Robert Bryce, to fd the fah which was stolen om him. The protagonist don't give much rmatn about himself: we know that he se ghosts, that he's gay and that he's had a walk wh the vil.
He checks at a motel and spends a night at the bar of a bowlg alley where he meets Taylor Harkns, the only gay boy town. I appreciated very much the subtle humor of the story and the atmosphere, but I thk the fact that I knew I was readg a Gay&Lbian anthology spoiled the twist at the end of the book. He n't tst almost anyone: not the spect he's tryg to discharge om the murr of his gay lover; not his lawyer who seems too timate wh him.

Anthologi my-wrg queerAuthor 176 books5, 051 followersAugt 20, 2011An uneven but generally entertag anthology of gay crime and mystery stori llected unr the ever popular and creasgly misunrstood umbrella term of "noir" ( his tro Edor Greg Herren tri to nvce that noir is, fact, whatever one believ to be).
A GAY MYSTERY NOVELIST WHO CHRONICL THE AFTERMATH OF AIDS
Gay noir? However, Herren and Redmann clearly had their reasons for cludg - maybe beg wrten by a gay thor is creria enough? While last year was the year of great gay thrillers, this year brgs somethg wholly unexpected: the rise of queer ral noir, blendg well to the folk horror revival (’s an athetic).
In classil noir, the homosexual—thk Joel Cairo The Malte Faln or A. Geiger The Big Sleep—was a margal character and the subject of ridicule and ntempt…Dick [Lipez] claimed he created [his tective Don] Strachey bee he wanted to prent a gay man as ntented and not tortured…[Strachey] parts om the tradnal noir PI that he is emotnally well-adjted, relatively sober, has a lovg pann and foil Timmy Callahan and is part of a vibrant muny, Albany’s gay muny. Huw Lemmey and Ben Miller, Bad Gays: A Homosexual History.
LGBTQIA: GAY FICTN & LERATURE
Bad Gays reflects a turn towards more plited queer stori, fictn and nonfictn, as reprentatn mov beyond the heroic towards somethg more realistic and tertg.
