Canal Street ns along the Rochdale Canal wh a range of bars and rtrants and although hugely signifint there are other areas the village cludg Bloom Street, Richmond Street and Sackville Garns where there is a monument to Alan Turg who was a founr of morn putg who was treated humanely for beg gay.

I have been visg the gay village sce late 1980’s and has always been a great place to vis, is pecially nice the summer months. Maybe not so much GAY, haha. Manchter's gay village is one of the bt plac to vis, whether you're planng a night out or jt fancy explorg the legendary Canal Street area. The gay village was 'willed to existence' the late 1980s rponse to amendments to sectn 28 laws that had prevly prohibed the promotn of homosexualy schools.

Thirty years on and Canal Street is one of the most regnisable gay districts the world thanks to s proment appearanc shows like Queer As Folk and Coronatn Street. Known by both the LGBT+ muny and alli, the gay village is full of bars, rtrants, fés and clubs that are perfect for any gatherg.
