After performg together December 2009 for the first time 17 years, the San Diego Men’s Chos (SDMC) and the Gay Men’s Chos of San Diego (GMCSD), wh their uniquely distctive and proud. histori, officially merged to create the new SAN DIEGO GAY MEN’S CHORUS (SDGMC). History of the Gay Men’s Chos of San Diego (1992-2010).
The Gay Men’s Chos of San Diego was found 1992 by eleven San Diego Men’s Chos members who wanted to sg a self-intified “gay chos. Wh s first year, GMCSD membership grew to over 30 sgers, and San Diego’s newly elected mayor ved the openly gay chos to perform as part of the openg entertament at her gural December 1993, the Chos prented s first public ncert – “Don We Now…”– before a standg-room-only dience at the Park Boulevard Uned Methodist Church.
