It's hard to prove a negative, but searchg has not turned up any other mentn of "red, gold, and green" beg ed as a gay pri symbol.
A more mon claim - posted twice on the Quora thread, and as a proposed ed on Geni - is that Boy Gee was attemptg to draw a parallel between the stggle for racial equaly and the stggle for gay equaly, but whether that's te is probably a whole different qutn.
